This Trinidadian rum comes from LVMH -- Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey, maker of Dom Perignon champagne and other fine products, so there's a hint right off the bat that it's a very good bet to be a quality product. 10 Cane was introduced to the market just three years ago.• 10 Cane Rum
Many rums are made from molasses. Lighter, purer and better rums are made from the first or at least an early press of the sugar cane before it is made into molasses. The brand name comes from the harvesting method -- 10 canes taken in a bunch.
10 Cane is made from sugar extracted on the day of harvest then distilled in small batches in French pot stills and matured in French oak barrels. The final product is a pale gold, light bodied but full flavored product. It carries a slight sweetness, a vanilla note, a pure warmth, and provides a certain viscous mouthfeel that is a hallmark of the finer rums.
Suggested retail price: $30 for the 750ml bottle.

I absolutely love 10 Cane and think it is a beautiful light rum. The notes of sugar cane are lively and hints of pear and vanilla linger when it's sipped over ice.
It also makes a killer mojito...
I have so far been unable to find 10 Cane rum at any of my local liquor stores. I'll keep looking but might have to shop online! Thanks for the review.
Dear Rum Drinks:
I'm quite surprised your local stores don't stock this premium rum.
If for some reason they can't order it from their suppliers for you, online shopping is a good alternative. But shop around, since the prices may vary as much as $5 a bottle, and then you'll need to check out shipping price add-ons.
